Parents Expectation

Parents

This particular posting is especially for those parents who are in stress at this particular moment for getting their child prepared for the entrance examination of any particular school. I can very well relate to all of them. As a mother of a 5 year old, I also went through the same tensions. The starting point is when you decide to send your children to clear the entrance of any top notch school of the city. As a parent there is no harm in wanting the best for your child however one should always keep in mind the child’s caliber.

They don’t even know what you have planned for them but slowly and gradually they start feeling the pressure. Your sending them to tuitions at such an early age or increasing their study times when they learn more from their environment definitely affects their psyche. Your over expectations soon start showing signs through your child’s behavior. If suddenly your child goes hyper, or suddenly he/she has started misbehaving or started to take every work as a burden then please be cautious as your child wants to say something to you. He/She hasn’t learned these things since birth then why now? This is just one of the ways of him/her telling you that something somewhere is not correct.

As a parent there is nothing wrong to expect the best from your child. However it must always be remembered that THEY ARE CHILDREN and this precious time of their life will never return. Give them only that amount of pressure which they can undergo. Imagine how tough it would be for a 5 year old to prove himself in front of you by getting through any exam or any school. And what if he/she is not able to do so?

The simple solution to all your worries are: Allow them to do their daily tasks and along with it you carry on regular studies. Take real life examples, more of practical studies and give lots of MOTIVATION, henceforth the result will follow. And a last word of advice that if in any case your child is not able to get through, please don’t blame him/her. All of them have brilliant potentials. The only need is to become aware of it and allowing it to grow.
